El recién coronado campeón del Mundo de Moto2 ha realizado una gran salida colocándose décimo en la primera vuelta tras salir 15º en parrilla.
Márquez ha realizado una gran remontada, pasando a su compañero de equipo, Vierge, en la vuelta 9 y llegando a rodar en quinta posición.
Desafortunadamente, la remontada ha terminado en la vuelta 13, cuando se ha ido al suelo en la curva 11. Se ha levantado y finalmente ha terminado en la posición 30º.
Alex Márquez, 30º: “Lo primero que quiero hacer es pedir perdón al equipo, porque he cometido un error. No he estado al cien por cien todo el fin de semana porque ha sido muy difícil de controlar todas las situaciones. Pero en la carrera he dado mi máximo y he disfrutado mucho, que era el principal objetivo hoy. He remontado desde la 15ª posición hasta ser quinto disfrutando cada curva y ha sido muy bonito pilotar tan cómodo delante de tantos aficionados. He cometido un error entrando en la curva y he perdido la rueda delantera. Gracias de nuevo al equipo por darme para la carrera la mejor moto que he tenido durante el fin de semana. Somos campeones del mundo y no hay que olvidar eso. Ha sido un año inolvidable, logrando lo que habíamos soñado desde que arrancó la temporada.”
Alex Márquez crashed out of fifth place after starring in a great comeback
The recently crowned 2019 Moto2 World Champion got a great start and was running in tenth after the first lap after qualifying 15th.
Márquez made quick progress through the field, passing team-mate Vierge on lap nine to six a fantastic fifth.
But the 23-year old’s challenge unfortunately ended on the 13th lap when he crashed out at turn eleven. He remounted to finish 30th.
Alex Márquez,30º: ‘I tried my best today. First of all I want to say sorry to the team. Today I did a mistake and this weekend I was not at my 100 percent. Also it was difficult to control everything and the situation. Anyway I think I did my best in the race. I enjoyed it and this was my main target. We came from 15th to fifth. I was already enjoying it from the first corner of the first lap. It was so nice to be on the bike today, riding in front of my fans. Sadly I did a mistake. I was turning into the corner and I lost the front. But I was giving my 110 percent. Thanks again to the team for giving me the best bike, as always, in Sunday’s race. I want to enjoy this moment. It’s been an unbelievable year. As a team, it’s what we have dreamed of since preseason. We are world champions and I can’t forget this.”
