Álex apunta al podio en Le Mans

Noticias

Álex aims for the podium at Le Mans

Álex Marquez heads to Le Mans and the fifth round of the 2018 Moto2 World Championship keen to make up for the disappointment of the Jerez race, where Márquez crashed out when he was on the leading group. Last year at Le Mans he was very close to the podium places in spite of his pain and discomfort of fracture in his left foot, and now hopes to achieve an even better result.

Márquez heads into the French Grand Prix weekend at Le Mans with confidence, after completing a satisfactory test at Mugello circuit last week. There, Álex focused on improving stability in the turns, starting with braking then at maximum lean angle and finally under acceleration on corner exit.

Álex Márquez:
«Those two days in Mugello were good for us. We weren’t working on the big things, but rather the small improvements that are so important in such a competitive class as Moto2.

Now we go to Le Mans, a very different track to Mugello, so we know the bike will be completely different in terms of set up. The Bugatti circuit is very stop start, which doesn’t really suit my riding style, but I was fast there last year and we head there this time with the podium as our target on Sunday.»
