El piloto del Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS llega a Alemania con hambre de podio. Alex Márquez está muy motivado para afrontar el difícil desafío de luchar por otro top 3, en la complicada pista de Sachsenring este fin de semana.

Cinco podios en las ocho primeras carreras de la temporada, el último en Assen, mantiene a Márquez pisándole los talones a Pecco Bagnaia y Miguel Oliveira en una intensa batalla por coronarse Campeón del Mundo de Moto2 2018.

Márquez ahora está completamente concentrado en ganar un gran impulso antes de las vacaciones de verano luchando por su primer podio en Sachsenring que, al ser una de las pistas más cortas y lentas en el calendario del Mundial, resulta muy exigente para pilotos y máquinas.

La acción de Moto2 comienza con la FP1 del viernes a las 10h55, mientras que la carrera de 28 vueltas a la pista de 3.671 km comenzará a las 12h20, el domingo por la tarde. Alex figura 3° en la clasificación general con 110 puntos.

Álex Márquez: «El año pasado no fue un fin de semana muy bueno para mí en Sachsenring porque me lesioné la espalda. Pero al menos fui rápido y lideraba la carrera en las primeras vueltas. El objetivo principal para este fin de semana es ser rápido y consistente. Quiero ser más fuerte el viernes para comenzar mis preparativos de una manera más positiva, pero estoy 100% decidido a luchar por el podio porque será importante tomar un poco de confianza e impulso antes de las vacaciones de verano».

Álex motivated to conquer Sachsenring

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider heads to Germany hungry for podium success. Alex Marquez is highly motivated to deliver another strong top three challenge when the Spanish rider takes on the tight, twisty and undulating Sachsenring track this weekend.

A fifth podium in the opening eight races of the season last time out in Assen kept Marquez hot on the heels of Pecco Bagnaia and Miguel Oliveira in an intense battle to be crowned 2018 Moto2 World Champion.

Marquez is now fully concentrated on gaining a big pre-summer break boost by fighting for his first podium finish at the Sachsenring, which despite being one of the shortest and slowest tracks on the World Championship schedule, still produces a demanding test for rider and machine.

The Moto2 action gets underway with FP1 on Friday morning at 1055am, with the 28-lap race around the 3.671km track scheduled to start at 1220pm on Sunday afternoon. Alex is 3th in the overall standings with 110 points.

Álex Márquez: “Last year was not a very good weekend for me at the Sachsenring because I injured my back. But at least I was fast and leading the race in the early stages. The main target again looking ahead to this weekend is to be fast and consistent. I want to be stronger on Friday to start my preparations in a more positive way but I am 100% determined to be battling for the podium because it will be important to take some confidence and momentum into the summer break.”
